I have traveled to over 50 countries on seven continents, more than half of which were visited solo. I love traveling, being outdoors, and hiking. I hope to inspire others to travel and explore further, even if that means going alone.

Hitting the road can take a toll on my sensitive skin! My thin skin and light complexion isn’t exactly made for adventure. All the hiking and traveling in different climates definitely speeds up its aging process. But, I’m determined to not let traveling damage my skincare routine. It’s an important time to be extra protective!
Staying hydrated while on the go is the most important part of keeping your skin looking and feeling its best. Unfortunately, hotels only give you two bottles of water a day, if that, which isn’t nearly enough!
To make sure you’re getting all the water that your body needs, try:
Other than staying hydrated, I’m not one for over-indulgence, just enough maintenance to keep my skin healthy!
From time to time I’ll treat myself to a chemical peel or extraction which helps clean out all the tough stuff. I also never forget to keep up with my Botox. Additionally, waking up and winding down with my below skincare routine is the perfect start and end to every day.
If you’re looking to keep your skin clean and smooth, don’t only use makeup wipes like Neutrogena Night Calming Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes! I use these wipes for my eye makeup, but a good cleanser makes all the difference on your face.
The cleanser I am currently using and also love is the SkinMedica Facial Cleanser.
I also periodically use the Michael Todd Beauty Soniclear Petite cleansing brush to get rid of buildup. You can use code DISCOVERINGDISTANCE20 for 20% off.
If you’re searching for something to make your skin feel firmer and younger, try SkinMedica’s TNS Advanced+ Serum! While this serum may be pricey at over two hundred dollars, it works wonders on fine lines and sagging skin.
My favorite eye creams are both SkinMedica’s Instant Eye Cream and Skinbetter Science’s InterFuse Treatment Cream Eye! These creams are very light and delicate to apply to your eyes. They are also very moisturizing, helping to reduce crow’s feet in addition to puffiness and dark circles under your eyes.
Although not the cheapest, both of these creams will last you months. All you need is a pea-sized amount to apply under your eyes.
For a more budget-friendly option, try Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.
I’m in love with SkinMedica’s TNS Ceramide Treatment Cream! Keep in mind, this cream is typically used by those who have just done a facial treatment so it is thicker and can be too much for some to use daily. I use it day and night because I feel like my skin dries out quickly, especially in less humid weather. This treatment cream leaves my skin feeling moisturized all day.
For something lighter, Skinbetter Science’s Trio Rebalancing Moisture Treatment is also amazing. It will keep your skin and neck hydrated without feeling heavy.
For a more budget-friendly option, try Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream.
Don’t head out on your adventures without sun protection!
Skinbetter Science’s SunBetter Tone Smart SPF 75 is a sunscreen worth investing in. It not only has SPF 75, but it also has a tint to it. I actually now use this sunscreen instead of foundation because this sunscreen evens out my skin tone. The Skinbetter sunscreen also doesn’t smell like sunscreen, you only need one pump, and it isn’t greasy at all once it dries.
For a more budget-friendly option, try Kinfield’s Daily Dew Hydrating Face Sunscreen with SPF 35. Use code DISCOVERINGDISTANCE15 for 15% off.
For a general all-over, body sunscreen, Sunbum is my go to and its reef-friendly!
Before bed, for years I have used Neutrogena Night Calming Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes to get rid of stubborn eye makeup. These wipes make it so easy compared to any other wipes I’ve tried!
To remove my face makeup, only my SkinMedica Facial Cleanser will do!
Every night, I give my skin an extra boost with the same SkinMedica’s TNS Advanced+ Serum.
Lastly, I use the Skinbetter Science Intensive AlphaRet Overnight Cream for anti-aging before adding moisturizer.
The Skinbetter retinol doesn’t have the typical irritation you’re used to seeing with other retinols. However, if keeping your skin calm and consistent matters more, this one has got you covered.
I use the Intensive retinol on both my face and neck and have never had any problems with irritation. I have burnt my neck pretty bad by other products.
